I’ve been on the hunt for a good twitter application to manage multiple twitter accounts. Logging in and out of different accounts and trying to keep track of everything can be quite the task.
I was introduced to HootSuite a couple weeks ago and immediately fell in love. I’ve been using it ever since. I love that it’s an online application and I can access it from anywhere. This prevents me from having to set it up on every computer I use. In the past couple weeks of using it, though, I feel like I haven’t kept an eye on the people I’m following and haven’t done a good job being part of the conversation.
Enter in…. Seesmic Desktop. It seems to be a lot like TweetDeck and HootSuite combined. I love that I’m able to see my entire stream, plus my @mentions and DMs all in the same window… and for all my accounts! It makes it so much easier to keep up with everyone. I also love that I’m able to create different lists (i.e. friends, etc) so I’m sure I don’t miss out on what my friends are saying. I also love that it allows me to save searches. This application has made my life so much easier in the couple days I’ve been using it. The only downfall: it’s a desktop application so you have to set it up on every computer you use. I got over this in a couple minutes though… its features greatly outweigh this small, little inconvience.
