Gmail: Emails and Tasks

My new favorite gmail feature: The task window.  I’ve been waiting for this feature forever!

I receive an average of 150 emails a day and it’s really easy to get behind if I don’t stay on top of it.  {It’s also really easy to let my email distract me too since there’s a constant flow of emails back and forth throughout the day.}  A great solution to stay on top of email: skimming.  I have emails that I receive that get my full attention.  I read every single word.  I also receive other emails {mainly press releases} that I skim and quickly glance at to see if I’m interested.  I quickly reply to emails that need a short answer.  Anything that requires action on my part, goes into my tasks.  It’s a great and wonderful feature and I couldn’t live without it!

Gmail has been great to add this feature, but I would like it to encompass a couple more things: deadlines and reminders.  When my task list gets too long, it’s easy to forget about things at the bottom of the list.  I know gmail is probably working on these improvements so for now, I will enjoy what I have and keep checking things off.
