Gmail Priority Inbox

If you use gmail as your primary email inbox, have you tried out their Priority Inbox?  I received an invite a couple days ago, and was immediately hooked.  If you feel overwhelmed with your email, and feel it takes too much time out of your day, I suggest you give it a try.

The highlights:

1.  It prioritizes your emails for you.  It places emails from people that you frequently respond to on top, and all the others in the traditional inbox.

2.  It shows your “starred” email on the main page.  It always bothered me that I had to go to another page to see these.  Now it’s much like flagging an email in Outlook.  Handy, dandy.

As a marketer, I wonder how this will impact e-newsletters.  Since many people don’t respond directly to newsletters, but instead just read them for content and information, I wonder if they will get seen as much when placed in the traditional inbox rather than on top of the pile.

What do you think?

And if you’ve tried Gmail’s Priority Inbox, what do you think of it so far?
