Toolulu was born when two friends, Deb & Christy, shared an idea to help small business owners navigate their way into successful integration of social media. We bring with us degrees in Communication/Public Relations, over 20 years combined experience on the web, including developing blogs, integrating social media into marketing practices, and a true drive to help make small businesses more successful. They are the founders of the Lincoln chapter of the Social Media Club.
Deb Averett has always had a passion for creative communication and effective marketing. It all started with her bachelor’s degree in communications {with an emphasis in public relations}. She found a love for strategic planning and connecting with people. She has been active in social media for over six years and is founder of Dose of Happy, a blog about fashion, photography, design and life in general. She has spoken at different events, including ALT Summit, Mom 2.0, Chicks Who Click in Kansas City and other local events.
Christy Nelson took her Communications degree and high school Spanish teacher background and put them to work for her online. She has a love of teaching and staying connected. Christy has been blogging and has been active on social media for over 16 years. Christy launched her new craft website, ChristyNelson.net, in 2008 and in that short time has been able to partner with companies such as Martha Stewart Crafts, Potter Craft, and Serif. She has spoken at the Chicks Who Click conference in Kansas City, BarCamp Omaha, and at many local events. She is a member of the American Marketing Association.
