What to Do When You Get Out of the Blogging Habit

Just do it. Jump back in. Write. Publish.

Between babies, clients, and a website redesign, we didn’t keep up the blog like before. However, we value this space and the contribution it makes to our site and our own personal growth. So, no more excuses. We’re back.
We both aren’t really out of the blogging habit. We [...]

The New Press

I attended an event recently and was granted access as a member of the press.  I had to present credentials that proved I was part of published media.  Basically I had to prove my blog has been around for a while, that I post regularly, and it caters to an audience that pertains to the [...]

Words of Wisdom on Blogging

I was going through some old notebooks full of notes and there were so many little gems in there that I thought I’d share.  Each one may become their blog post in the future but for now, I’ll let you all just ponder some these great thoughts.  I apologize that I’m not able to attribute [...]

Blog Your Business to Success

I read an interesting article the other day about what type of social media has gained the most traction for small businesses.  It’s no surprise that Facebook is an area where most small businesses are finding success.  There are over 400 million users and over half of those log in daily (according to Facebook itself). Blog Giveaway Media Overload

I’m hoping predicting that 2010 will be the year that changes blog giveaways.  A couple of years ago, blog giveaways started to pop up.  They were few and far between but they had amazing results for the products involved.  Let’s face it…companies want exposure and blog readers love to be “in the know” on all [...]

Fresh Content

When fate hands you a lemon, make lemonade.

People tell me all the time that they couldn’t possible have an interesting blog, or twitter account.  Really?  I don’t think that’s true.  We all have something to say– atleast at one time or another.  It’s a matter of making note of it, developing the thought further in your mind and making time to write [...]

Working the Blog

Deb did a great post yesterday on the trending #blogmoney discussion on how much money bloggers should make.  I’ve been a little silent on this blog over the past couple of weeks because I’ve been doing what I can to work my own blog!  You see, I’ve been blogging for over 5 years now.  If [...]

Should Bloggers be Paid?

How many blogs would a weblog blog if a weblog could blog blogs?

A great discussion broke out on twitter last night {#blogmoney} about how much bloggers should make.  It started with Kelby Carr’s post and then Gwen Bell joined in the dicussion, and sooner or later, it was showing up as a trending topic.  Let me just say, it was awesome.
And then this poll showed up.  And [...]

FTC Issues New Guidelines for Bloggers

The Federal Trade Commission spoke out today regarding bloggers and their disclosure regarding free products and payments.  The rules will take place on December 1st but the FTC made it clear that if violated, the advertisers, not the bloggers, will be the ones to face the music.
So, what does this mean?
Bloggers must  include a “clear [...]
